  • Developed the Sustainability Enterprise Maturity & Integration Framework, anchored in ISO principles, and designed and led the first Double Materiality Assessment with 70+ stakeholders.
  • Developed the re-validation approach for science-based targets across all scopes (~7.5 MtCO₂e), including new subsidiaries, and took it through internal management review and approval.
  • Technically guided the shift of major SIM-card volumes to recycled PVC using validated LCA evidence: >165 t virgin plastic and >690 tCO₂e avoided in one year.
  • Anchored sustainability disclosures in the Integrated Annual Report, taking BRSR Core metrics through reasonable assurance and non-core metrics through limited assurance; established ESG data controls across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions underpinning assurance readiness for CDP, S&P Global, MSCI and Sustainalytics.
  • Launched the Sustainability Ambassadors programme with 8,000 volunteers and 1,100 hours of voluntary ESG learning in FY26; led the business case for a new Compliance Management System.
  • Led ESG ratings and disclosures, with results building over successive reporting cycles: a first-ever ISS ESG Prime status; led CDP disclosures through the 2026 cycle, improving Supplier Engagement and Water Security scores on the previous year; Sustainalytics Low Risk rating maintained; a Corporate Knights Clean200 debut for sustainable revenues; a rise from #251 (2024) to #178 (2026) in TIME World's Most Sustainable Companies; internal visibility for 10 years of FTSE4Good inclusion; and Gold at The Asset Corporate Sustainability Leadership Awards 2026.

  • Designed and ran a 47-company value-chain benchmark on 49 indicators, presented the supplier benchmarking report to Group HSES management leadership, and introduced ESG data and due-diligence tools such as Bloomberg, RepRisk and OECD guidance to the team.
  • Built a Power BI analysis linking supplier ESG risk with procurement value and presented horizon-scanning findings to the Global CFO; co-authored a product stewardship white paper with ERM and supported the Supplier Code of Conduct rollout.
  • Represented Corporate Environment on the HSES Transformation taskforce defining the group's environmental digitisation roadmap, working with global functional and site teams.

Principal Adviser, HSES Performance Analysis & Reporting

2013 – 2020

Rio Tinto, Gurugram

Ran Rio Tinto's group-wide Social & Environment (S&E) Survey: the annual performance data behind its sustainability reporting, from every managed operation across 36 countries, all product groups and commodities.

  • Ran the S&E Survey with a small team, covering environment (water, waste, air emissions, land, biodiversity, GHG and energy), social (communities, social performance and health) and product stewardship data; the survey supplied around 30% of the group's GRI-linked sustainability disclosures in 2019.
  • Led internal verification of GHG, water, waste, air emissions, health and community data, later bringing in a Big 4 firm for the annual internal verification and reviewing its verification work; recognised in 2016 for internal verification of global water targets.
  • Final approver for all outputs from the S&E Survey desk.

Why EaselESG matters to your business

Sustainability only creates value when it is understood, governed and measured. That takes someone who has done the work inside the business, not only advised on it.

01

Practitioner experience, not theory

Has run ESG and compliance inside a business of 20,000+ employees and 2,000+ suppliers, with disclosures taken through reasonable assurance for BRSR Core.

02

A global lens on Indian requirements

A decade on global programmes across 36 countries, combined with hands-on work on changing Indian regulatory needs (like BRSR).

03

Data you can defend

Governance, SOPs and controls across Scope 1, 2 and 3, and climate targets built for a ~7.5 MtCO₂e footprint. Developed SOPs for each BRSR Core metric.

04

People who act on it

Built a culture 8,000 volunteers strong, with 1,100 hours of voluntary ESG learning in a year.

Strategy, action, impact: sustainability made simple to run across the business.
